A lover of words, images, dreams and journeys,  Carol is a storyteller who creates safe spaces for others to narrate the stories of their lives.  She is daily inspired by encountering the courage, resilience, hope and creativity that people bring to their life challenges.

With a B.A. from Rice University, M.A. and Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, Carol has practiced the art and science of psychology for over thirty years. She has provided therapy to children, adolescents and adults, as well as serving a diverse range of clients as a school consultant.  She has trained educators, parents, and psychologists on a wide range of behavioral health issues.  Years of leadership roles in non-profit organizations in the community continue to bring rich experiences of shared mission.

In 2010 Carol served as Past President of the Fort Worth Area Psychological Association and currently chairs the committee on Psychology and the Arts.  This organization held its second biennial art show of works by psychologists in June 2010 at the Fort Worth Community Art Center; the third art show will be October, 2012.

Carol specializes in Positive Psychology, the enhancement of
positive traits and emotions in individuals and institutions.  Exploring, teaching and writing about the connections between curiosity, creativity, courage and authenticity led her to create the weekly VoiceAmerica internet talk radio show "Stargazing Stories: Sparking  Your Creativity", which aired for 40 episodes in 2009-2010.

As writer and artist, Carol is actively engaged in the creative process both as wellness practice and spiritual discipline. She is  a trained spiritual director and Labyrinth facilitator.  As a coach, she specializes in creativity enhancement, mid-life career transitions and the art of flourishing, based on the science of well-being.  See more about these activities at
